It's been said that a cover and/or original band's life expectancy is somewhere in the range of 2 to 5 years, and in some cases, if they're lucky, maybe 10. Such has not been the case with the Andy Smith Band from New Iberia, LA, whom have been around for the last 20 years. They have played on stages in various parts of the United States, and also abroad in El Salvador. A few reasons for the longevity and success of the band may be due to the fact that they have been able to give people music they want to hear which has been music that people recognize and can dance to, and also Andy's ability to read a crowd and know which song would work best for any situation.
